Mechanical Engineer
Reporting to the Director of Operations (Manufacturing), Under the direction of the Director of Operations for Manufacturing the Mechanical Engineer has responsibility for the overall maintenance of equipment and plant that is used in the manufacturing process. Safety procedures are paramount in this job and should be adhered to at all times.
Job Duties & Key Responsibilities:
- Provide mechanical engineering support by analysing and trouble shooting daily problems and issues to ensure smooth uninterrupted operations of mechanical equipment and plant.
- Implement reliability improvement programmes of the equipment and plant.
- Develop, repair, refurbish and overhaul procedures for selected critical equipment.
- Participate in procuring of plant equipment as part of the capital spending control.
- Supervise production activities to ensure that work is carried out safely and smoothly.
- Perform equipment and plant inspection and problem resolution during quality assurance testing.
- Assist in pre-commissioning and commissioning of plant systems.
- Provide Hands on Training to new operators of equipment and plant.
- Perform quality assurance testing on all input and output of raw materials.
- Planning for strategic long term needs. Keep up to date on new developments in the creation and maintenance of equipment and plant and using these technologies to improve standard of output.
- Understanding and adhere to engineering codes and specifications.
- All other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- MSc. In Mechanical Engineering.
- 4 years experience working in a similar capacity.
- Strong and in-depth technical knowledge of plant maintenance with excellent problem solving skills.
- Able to plan and prioritise high work load.

- Establish and perform maintenance programmes following company vendor standards.
- Ensure timely notification of maintenance requirements and effects on system availability.
